CHAUTAUQUA — The Athenaeum Hotel at Chautauqua Institution and the Allegheny Jazz Society have announced the 12th Annual Jazz at Chautauqua. The lasting, lovely melodies of the most productive decades of popular American song will be heard throughout Chautauqua from Sept. 17 to 20.Thirty of the world's most renowned mainstream jazz artists from Australia, California, Florida, New Orleans, San Antonio, Portland, New York City and Ann Arbor will assemble for a weekend of memorable music celebrating the great composers of the 1920s, '30s and '40s. More than 27 hours of music will be presented throughout each day in solo, duet, trio, band and vocal formats.All performances will be in the Athenaeum Hotel's main dining room. Weekend packages are still available for reservation to enjoy the festival. Packages for only music and meals will be available after Sept. 9.
