Celebrate the season of festivals, foliage, and learning in Chautauqua County. Engage in the Colors of Chautauqua
Leaf peepers traveling to western New York September through early November will find myriad learning opportunities in addition to colorful fall foliage and harvest festivals during the Colors of Chautauqua, September 4 - November 8, 2015. Dozens of tours, workshops, and wine, food and beer tasting events will be held across Chautauqua County. Visitors as well as residents can register for entertaining classes and learn kitchen, gardening, and foraging techniques, take lessons in creating artwork and crafts, join guided walking tours, and discover history through storytelling. 

An Evening of Harvest Wines and Craft Beer
Join the Grape Discovery Center on October 3, 2015 from 6-10 pm for an elegant evening of wine, beer, and food pairings along with lessons on how entertain with wine. Appetizers, small bites and desserts paired with seasonal wines and craft beers will be offered throughout the tasting bar and exhibit room with music on the patio next to the vineyards. Food presented by Picnic with products sourced through local farms including Abers Acres, Green Heron Growers, Fickle Field Farm, and artisan cheese maker, Reverie Creamery. Westfield's Portage Pies, recently featured in a PBS documentary, will also be on the menu. An Evening of Harvest Wines and Craft Beers is the first in a series of special events at the Grape Discovery Center presenting Lake Erie regional wine and craft beverages in a seasonal context.

Farm-to-Table at Heirloom Restaurant
Enjoy a five-course dinner exclusively prepared with local ingredients during the fall Farm-to-Table Dinner prepared by Executive Chef Travis Bensink at Heirloom Restaurant at the Athenaeum Hotel, September 19, 2015. The event opens at 5:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar followed by dinner beginning at 6 p.m. Each course will be perfectly paired with a local wine or beer. See the menu.

Fall Festivals!
The autumn schedule is abundant with harvest festivals every weekend through November. The Village of Silver Creek celebrates its annual Festival of Grapes, September 17-20 while the Town of Busti honors all the many uses and flavors of apples on September 27th. Peek'n Peak Resort near Findley Lake toasts the changing of the seasons over two weekends, October 10-11 and 17-18 with their Annual Fall Fest. Festivities include an exceptional juried craft show, ski lift rides, and snow sports equipment swap. Wineries from Silver Creek, NY to North East, PA will share their favorite harvest recipes paired with wine during Lake Erie Wine Country's two Harvest Wine Weekends in November.
