Tour Chautauqua

May has arrived and the landscape in Chautauqua County is steadily turning many shades of green. The golf courses are open as is the Mountain Adventure Park at  Peek'n Peak Resort. Seasonal shops, restaurants, and farm markets are also opening their doors, and the fifth annual season of learning,  Chautauqua in Spring begins May 15th. Wine and Cheese, and Ice
Lake Erie Wine Country hosts two big events in May, their annual Wine and Cheese Weekend event, May 15-17 and a new Wine on Ice, May 9th at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena. Ticket holders for Wine and Cheese will visit any or all of 25 participating wineries and enjoy a special wine paired with food samples created with Yancey's Fancy cheeses. Ticket holders will also receive a wine glass, recipe booklet, $5 voucher for wine purchase, and a deluxe set of cheese markers. On the menu, find Beer-Infused Bacon and Cheddar Stuffed Shells, Riesling Spinach Artichoke Dip, Loaded Buffalo Chicken and Potato Casserole and Taco Chili. These are just some of the food samples that can be savored along with the perfect complementary wine. Tickets for Wine on Ice include unlimited wine tasting from 13 participating wineries. 
 
Chautauqua in Spring, May 15 - June 21, 2015
Celebrate Chautauqua in Spring, a season of learning, May 15 - June 21. Now in its fifth year, the spring learning festival offers workshops with a wide range of experiences from beer and wine pairing to historic walking tours and lessons in journaling. Register for a learning experience while enjoying the local bounty, great outdoors, and heritage of Chautauqua County. The five week schedule includes workshops in culinary, creative, and cultural arts and outdoor recreation with an emphasis on Chautauqua's agricultural heritage.

News from Peek'n Peak
Peek'n Peak Resort has shed its winter coat and welcomes spring with the opening of the Peek Mountain Adventures including the Aerial Adventure Course and Giant Dual Ziplines, along with Segway tours and miniature golf. The Aerial Adventure Course includes 8 courses with varying difficulties from cross rope bridges, cable walkways, cargo nets and ladders and ziplines in the trees. It is suited for all ability levels. The Giant Dual Ziplines soar over the trees from the top of chairlift 8 on two, 2,000 ft dual ziplines. Climb the 60 ft. tower and experience the beautiful views of the valley below. Adventure Course and Ziplines will be open on weekends in May; moving to 7 days a week mid-June. Golf promotions in May include Get Into Golf-3 Golf Lessons with a Pro and a full set of golf clubs for $239 for Juniors (Ages 8 and up) and $279 for Adults.
