Celebrate Independence Day
Communities from Dunkirk to Jamestown will celebrate July 4th with parties on the beach, in the park, and on the street, all day long followed by a number of fireworks displays.
Start the day at 7 am at the Lakewood Family YMCA registering for the 2013 Firecracker Run. The 10k Race starts at 9 am followed by a Kids Race at 9:30 am. Starting at 2 pm, head to Chautauqua Avenue in Lakewood for street sales, live music and food vendors with fireworks at 10 pm.
Lakeside Park in Mayville will be the endpoint for the annual 10 am parade and feature activities, food and live music until the flares create a ring of fire around Chautauqua Lake and the fireworks light up the sky at 10pm.
Dunkirk City Pier and Memorial Park features live music and food vendors from 12-10 pm ending with fireworks over the Harbor.
Back by popular demand, Jersey Tribute brings the music of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to life on the Floating Stage in Bemus Point starting at 8 pm and ending with a blaze of fireworks.
The Village of Findley Lake hosts a daylong celebration with chicken BBQ, a duck race, boat parade, live music starting at 7 pm, flares at 9 pm and fireworks at 10 pm.
