Chautauqua County Greenway Plan Public Survey


The Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Economic Development is creating a plan to develop greenways and trails as well as to preserve open spaces for recreation, enjoyment and eco-tourism based economic development within the county.

Greenways are: Linear corridors of open space designed for recreation, transportation or conservation purposes, or a combination of both. Examples include: Recreation & Transportation Greenways - Hiking trails, walking / bike paths, equestrian trails - Canoe / kayak trails - Snowmobile & ATV Trails Conservation Greenways - Conservation of agricultural and forestry resources - Conservation of rare, threatened or endangered species habitat - Conservation of sensitive natural resources April 2011 Towards the end of the survey, you may choose to participate in the planning process by giving you the opportunity to tell them:


  • Your opinion of how greenways and trails impact quality of life in Chautauqua County
  • Which existing greenways and trails you use
  • How frequently & why you use them
  • What is important to you in establishing and maintaining new / existing greenways, trails, and open spaces.
Your input on this survey will guide the recommendations being developed in the Chautauqua County Greenway Trails Planning effort.
