Danza! plans holiday production at 1891 Fredonia Opera House
Danza! Performing Arts Academy of Fredonia will perform a full-scale holiday production at the historic 1891 Fredonia Opera House on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1
11/21/2006 - Danza! Performing Arts Academy of Fredonia announces its first full-scale holiday production, Holiday magic. The special kick-off to the holiday season will be performed at 7 p.m. on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at the historic 1891 Fredonia Opera House.

The dance showcase features an array of dance styles to traditional holiday classics, as well as new favorites. The show features students from all over Chautauqua County. Dancers range from age 3 through local college students.

Traditional numbers, such as “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Run, Run Rudolf” and the Christmas song, “Merry Christmas to You” will be heard, as well as new sounds of the Trans Siberian Orchestra and music made popular by the films, “The Polar Express,” “The Grinch” and “Home Alone.” Numerous dance styles will be performed, including ballet, Pointe, jazz, tap, modern and tumbling.

More than 40 dancers will be joined onstage for a jazz dance to the Polar Express theme song. The dance features numerous turns, jumps and lifts by dancers of all ages.

The show is produced and choreographed by Danza! Artistic Director Krista Taylor.
